There is zero bling. The FXD’s design esthetic somehow offers a perfect balance between a relevant/trendy vibe and a vintage vibe. Like most Rolexes, this Reference has all of the good vintage details/DNA of its iconic ancestors and yet, still feels fresh and contemporary due to its lack of any faux vintage patina. In summary, like most blue-dialed/bezeled watches, the FXD fails to achieve the same strap versatility as say a Speedmaster or Explorer, but it does look good on a variety of straps. And this is good, because the supplied Velcro strap looks and feels cheap, while the rubber NATO strap bows out at the lugs and looks sloppy.
